Looking For a Job

The first part of my plan to settle down is finding a job; I applied for a couple of companies, one of them is Intel, who has a large development center in Haifa. In the past I was reluctant to apply for a job at Intel; I heard stories about the work culture their that scared me away. But unfortunately there are little job opportunities here that suit my experience, and Intel is probably the more suitable, and they are hiring; just can't be picky at the moment, besides Intel is a secure work place, and the salary and benefits should be good, and in a big company like Intel their are opportunities to advance, or at least do something different every couple of years. I went to the first interview, and that seemed to go well, as I was invited to a second interview next week. If I get a decent offer I will accept it.

El-Al finally replied to me, and sent me a check for 200 Shekels, not enough even to cover the cost of the laptop charger which I bought as a replacement, the audacity! Anyway I sent them a comprehensive letter, rejecting their offer, and demanding they give me my stuff back, or pay for replacement. I intend to go with this fight till the end, if they reject my demands, I will sue them court.

I have been trying to keep my self busy; playing tennis, reading, playing Oblivion. But it is still kind of boring, and I miss having my girlfriend and my travel friends. My girlfriends is planning to move here to join, me but that might not be before September.

My brother had an idea how to make things more interesting at home; to buy a table tennis table (ping pong). I found the idea interesting and we shared the cost. It should give us something to do in the evening, and maybe attract some more friends an family to visit more often. My brother is kind paranoid about his new toy though, and the first night he would not leave it in the garden, even though we could lock the gate; he folded it and stored in the kitchen! I could foresee future arguments developing between my mother and brother about this, as I doubt my mother will be pleased with a large tennis table in the middle of her kitchen, but I let my brother have his way the first night, and the next day he was a little bit less paranoid and he let the table remain in the garden.
