I been around the city for 3 days now, the first two days I stayed in Botafogo close to the beaches, yesterday I moved to Lapa close to the center of Rio, which is a nicer area but further away from the Copacabana and Ipanema beaches. In Botafogo I stayed in a youth hostel part of the YHI, which was expensive considering I had to share a room with six beds. In Lapa I found a nice hotel, called Marajo for almost half the price, with extremely friendly staff. I found a very good internet cafe not far away, in the metro station of Lapa.
